David Leo Morgan

1978 ~ 2013

We said a loving goodbye to our gentle David Leo Morgan on July 25, 2013. David left his love with us. We can also feel his happiness at being able to put his arms around his mother who would have come to greet him.

David made a grand entrance into this world 3 months early as a birthday gift to his mother Julene Manwaring Morgan Fasy and as a very tiny 2 Ω lb. bundle of joy to his father Robert L. Morgan on January 5, 1978 in Salt Lake City, Utah. David grew up in the Salt Lake Area attending Butler Middle School and graduating from Skyline High School in 1996. While growing into a strong and proud man, he developed a love for languages, people and cultures. Along with his talents in music, writing, poetry, art, karate, swimming and communication, David's humor carried him through life, drew hundreds of people to him, and touched their lives.

After high school David attended Salt Lake Community College while also working in the college writing center with ESL students. His love for languages and people continued to direct his life as he next made a brave decision to travel to China to teach English. David had always been enlightened by and pulled by his love for Eastern cultures and philosophy. He spent 5 years immersed in the peace and serenity that he recognized there. David added fluent Mandarin Chinese to his already proficient language skills in German and Japanese during this time.

David left his life in China and came home to his Utah family and friends in 2008 to reestablish his place here. He developed his poetry, communication and writing skills and people soon recognized his translation abilities as he became involved in many Chinese and Japanese cultural development projects. He loved being the translator and announcer as he worked the announcers' booth the last few summers at the Bountiful Summerfest International festival.

David shared his philosophic views and his compassion for all people and cultures. He could see purpose and strength in everyone; sometimes more in others than in himself. His sense of humor, compassion and wisdom beyond his years brightened untold numbers of lives.

David was preceded in death by his mother Julene with whom he held a timeless bond and his older brother Joseph R Morgan. He is survived by his amazing father Robert L. (Claudia) Morgan, his brothers Johnny R. (Summer) Morgan, Michael H. (Denise) Morgan, his step sister Alison Tuft and sister Emily (Ryan) Miller who gave him his two precious nieces "Morgan Morgan Monkey Pants" and "Brooklyn Brooklyn Buffalo Bum." He also held close and is survived by his step father Edward L. (Peggy) Fasy and his step brothers and sisters from that union as well as many aunts, uncles cousins and friends all of whom he loved.

Please join us in a remembrance of all David gave to us on Friday August 2, 2013 at 7:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.

Guestbook/Condolences

Dearest David,

It has been over 8 years since you left me. I never stopped thinking of you...

Eva is a young lady now. She and I are working on a book with my writings and her photo works and illustrations. I also included your poems and letters to me. For a man who loved me so much and once proudly said "I love her" to strangers on a street in China, I guess he wouldn't mind me annoucing my love for him in a book to be published.

I also write emails to your family. I hope I will receive their response.

Love you for ever,

Ying
