Barbara Ann Pedersen Hogge passed peacefully from this earth on October 14, 2021, following complications from diabetes. She was the eldest daughter born to Alma Henry and Ethel Agatha Pedersen on December 14, 1946, in Park City, Utah.

She is survived by her siblings, Patricia Wareham and Edward Pedersen. She grew up in Deer Valley/Park City in a tight-knit community of family and was very close to her siblings and all her cousins throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the Park City High School Marching Band and graduated with honors from Park City High School in 1965. She then attended Excelsis Beauty College in Salt Lake City, Utah. During this time, she met her loving husband, Russell Wright Hogge. They were married on December 29, 1966, and later sealed in the LDS Salt Lake City Temple.

Russell and Barbara made their home in West Jordan, Utah and had five children, Scott (Rebecca), David (Jennifer), Kevin (Suzette), Laura (Uriah) and Amy (Patrick). She was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. She was the most loving, caring, generous, thoughtful wife and mother and always put her family’s needs before her own. Barbara loved family vacations, picnics, camping, fishing and celebrating holidays with her family. She loved her church, service and helping others. She served faithfully as a missionary at the Jordan River Temple Distribution Center and was a proud member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Barbara will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

    Dear Russ and Family,

You have been devoted caretakers of others all your lives. First with your mother and grandmother, and then Barbara. I'm grateful she's relieved of the physical struggles she had, yet I'm sure she'll be greatly missed. Thank you for your examples of devotion and service. I hope your loss is eased by your knowledge that your loved ones are in a better place without being hampered by mortal limitations. Your relationship with them continues, with new boundaries.

    love,

    Rebecca Ryser Jolley
