  • Barbara Jean Knight passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. She was born in Owensboro, KY, on March 28, 1934, to Elmer Lee Peak and Cora Mae Roberts. She had 1 sister, Georgia Lee Ramstetter with whom she enjoyed many activities including roller skating and cheerleading.

    Barbara left Owensboro to marry her childhood sweetheart, Donald, in Biloxi, MS, where he was in basic training. They were married at the courthouse in Biloxi on Jan 30, 1954. They were later sealed with their children in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

    While in the military, the family traveled to many parts of the world. They spent several years in Turkey and Iceland while also visiting Greece, Italy, Germany, Libya and Mexico. They also lived in Colorado, California, Virginia, Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Idaho.

    Barbara’s many passions were gardening, at which she excelled, decorating her home, giving dinner parties, singing and dancing. Cheering on her beloved Philadelphia Eagles was one of her greatest joys.

    Barbara is survived by her children. Katrina Buttars (Terral), Mark Knight (Kammile), Jill Woolsey (Kelly), Jason Knight (Janet), Jared Knight (Louisa), Annette Knight. She has 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

    She is proceeded in death by her husband, Donald and her daughter Tamara Kells (Matthew).

    A family viewing will take place on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 1:00pm at Larkin Mortuary, 3688 W 12600 S Riverton, UT 84065. Interment will
    be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 9:00am at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO.
