    August 25, 1926 - March 12, 2021
    Born Denver, Colorado
Parents: Vera Marie Thompson and Carl Leslie Carver
    Spouse: Ralph Robert Rohde

Barbara has happy childhood memories of working in her father’s corner grocery store in Salt Lake City, Utah where he and her mother taught her to have a strong work ethic. Barbara attended South High and then the University of Utah during World War II. She was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority and earned a degree in Business.

She fell in love with Ralph Rohde and traveled with him through life enjoying many trips and at least 20 cruises together. They built a lovely home one room at a time in Holladay, Utah where they raised four children.

Barbara worked for an accountant and then as a private tax consultant before she began working at Del Monte with Ralph. She lived in South Ogden and Layton, where they raised their son, Robert.

One of her accomplishments was riding her bicycle up Parleys Canyon and down Emigration Canyon with her sister-in-law, Jackie, before there were gears on bikes. Barbara gardened, canned, sewed and knit and was a true homemaker.

She had beautiful flower gardens that were appreciated by all. She was PTA President at Cottonwood Elementary, a primary teacher and had many friends and especially enjoyed playing bridge with them.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Rohde. She is survived by her children: Mark Rohde (Winnie), Ann Rothlisberger (Dana), Jill Rohde, Carol Christensen (Dave), Robert Rohde (Britt). She has 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Legacy House of Park Lane in Farmington, Utah. They have shown so much love, service, and compassion for Barbara during the past two and a half years.

There will be a family prayer at 1:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah.
