Barbara Ann Workman Provost

Barbara Ann Workman Provost, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Barbara was born on September 4, 1942, to Arthur and Jane Workman in Brigham City, Utah. She was raised in Park City, Utah, where she later worked for Sears Industries.

In 1961, Barbara welcomed her first child, Mindy. She married Rex Hamilton on October 25, 1962, in Evanston, Wyoming. Together, they welcomed their son, Rex Hamilton. Barbara was widowed on February 23, 1963.

Barbara later met and married Danny Provost on January 11, 1964. Together, they welcomed two children, Jeanette and Frank. Barbara and Danny eventually moved from Park City to the Salt Lake Valley, where they raised their family.

Barbara was a hardworking and dedicated woman who took great pride in the life she built for her family. She worked for Parker Packing for 25 years, where she created seals used in the airline industry.

Barbara loved to travel, especially in her RV. She enjoyed exploring national parks and traveling to Alaska with Danny and her grandchildren. These adventures created countless memories that her family will treasure forever.

She also had a love for puzzles. You could often find Barbara happily working through one of her many puzzle books, solving crossword puzzles, word searches, or Sudoku. She could spend hours enjoying the challenge and quiet time that each puzzle brought her.

Above all, Barbara's greatest love was her family. She had a special gift for bringing everyone together through weekly Sunday dinners, countless holidays, and family gatherings filled with love, laughter, and memories. Her home was a place where family could always gather, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a very special place in her heart.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Danny Provost and daughter-in-law Laurie Provost.

She is survived by her children, Mindy (Jeff) Leonard, Rex (Stephani) Hamilton, Jeanette (Joe) Giles, and Frank Provost; her grandchildren, Breanna (Landen) Martin, Tiffany (Geoff) Skinner, Ember Forsman, Kassie, Nick (Savannah) Leonard, Tori Provost (Chris), Mersadi (Travis) Larson, JD Leonard, Olivia (Davis) Grove, and Katharine Hamilton; and several great-grandchildren.

Barbara will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, family, and togetherness will live on through the generations she leaves behind.

Funeral services will be held at the same location on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Park City Cemetery.
