  • Barbara Rae Campbell, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2020 after a long battle with dementia. She was surrounded by her family as the sun set for the final time on a wonderful life.
She was greeted at the veil by her sweetheart Jared; her son, Peter; her parents, Bard and Lorraine, and a myriad of loved ones who preceded her in death.

She was born on April 1, 1938 in Ephraim, Utah to Bard and Lorraine Nelson. She married her husband Jared DeRoyce Campbell on September 12, 1958 and were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised five children, Kistine, Duncan, Peter, Heather, and Tige.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family very much. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family, especially during the holidays. She enjoyed and loved to garden, arts and crafts, cooking and sewing were just some of her talents. She loved the grand kids and great-grand kids to visit often. She made her home a place where all wanted to gather.

She was small in physical stature, but a giant as she was a great example of strength and courage in the face of adversity. She touched the lives of many through her kindness, service, and beautiful smile. She served faithfully in numerous callings as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Barbara is survived by her children, Kistine (Steve); Duncan (Lourine); Heather (Dustin); Tige (Jessica); daughter-in-law, Lynne (Peter), grandchildren, Camille (Collin), Valarie, CJ, Akaysha (Mickey), Josh, Austin, Alexsys, Libby, Phillip; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Keira, Samantha, Lauren; brothers Ron (Eileen), Jack (Judy), Kurt, and a large extended family.

    Guestbook/Condolences

    Dear Campbell family:
I am so sad to hear of the passing of your mom. Truly, my favorite memories are those times I spent with Barbara and Jared. Barbara was such a talented person and had the best sense of humor. We laughed a lot! My thoughts, prayers, and love are with you!

Barbara was talented, fun and refreshingly honest in her comments. Her wisdom blessed many lives... including mine.

Barbara was an inspiration to all who knew her. Soft spoken but with great power. She was such a great missionary along with her husband Jared. They served together in one of the hardest missions of the church in Central City, Utah. She along with Jared were instrumental in the park west of the Freeway; with ball diamonds, a basketball court and a fun place for family. They spent more hours than you can count working on that project. We have a lot of respect for all her children that cared for her for such a long time. I hope each of you felt her love; I'm sure she felt yours. A great lady has returned to be with her husband Jared and son Peter and into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father and the embrace I'm sure the Savior your game her.
