On June 14, 2021, and on his Grandmother's Birthday, our amazing Benjamin Conrad Capel left this earthly existence and returned to be with his Heavenly Father, his Jack Russell Terriers' Ginger and Lizzy, his cousin Jake Acord and all those who dearly love him.

Benjamin Conrad Capel was born on April 8,1998, to Marilee Mann Capel and Christopher Conrad Capel in Jackson, Mississippi during a tornado.

Ben loved to read, especially on his phone because he could research anything and did. He also loved to run, to clear his mind. He was an artist, and an intellectual, and loved to draw his unique pictures. He loved to eat chicken, and always ate it at every restaurant and also loved Japanese candy. He loved to play basketball, he loved his video games, and most of all he loved his pet cockatiel, YuGiOh, and his Jack Russell Terriers' Lizzie and Ginger. His video gamer tag was "landgrip" which stood for "Lizzie and Ginger Rest In Peace". He was a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was an Aaronic Priesthood holder and a Cub Scout. Ben will be missed by all who knew him because of his kind and soft heart. We loved him so much, and know we will see him again.

He is survived by his parents, Christopher Conrad Capel and Marilee Mann Capel, Draper, Utah, Sister, Brittney Capel Shute (William), Greenwood, MS, and Brother, Bryan Christopher Capel (Madalyn Tedford), Draper, UT, Grandparents, Clealon and Nanell Mann, Sandy, UT, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ben is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Lucy Seely Capel and Neal Conrad Capel, Cousins, Jacob Hayes Acord, Jared Capel, and Uncle, Jeffrey Ernest Capel.

Funeral services to be held Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Noon at the Draper 9th Ward Chapel, 12353 South 600 East, Draper, UT 84020. Viewing will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial following services at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 North Street E, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Ben's one and only sister, Brittney Shute, describes Ben best:

"Ben was the smartest, sweetest guy in the world! He had so many ideas and thoughts that were so outpouring that he needed a scribe to jot them all down. He had so much excitement about the smallest tiny details of our giant world; so many little things that we find small but are so insightful. He loved animals and tools and anything that could complete a simple task. He is that person that is so pure and beautiful in so many ways. His light and his angel wings will lift me to anywhere I want to go and that is what I need to keep going on my journey. I want him to perpetually hold my hand every day, and as long as I have oxygen to keep me on this planet, I will always be thinking of his sweet words that I took for granted. Because he was so far beyond my own intelligence, I will never stop regretting all I could have listened and learned from him. He is the sweetheart that I really needed in my day to day. My heart will always ache for his soul because we were so similar in small ways. I miss you Ben. Always will ......."

    Guestbook/Condolences

    Dear Capel and Capel-Shute Family,

Brittney, thank you for your wonderful sharing about your dear brother. Clearly he's someone so very special to you, and I do hope that you feel his hand holding your hand, until you meet again.

To all of you, especially my Dear Friend Marilee, I pray for your peace at this time. We can never really know why God calls some of us home in ways and with timing we don't understand, and that hurt our hearts so much. I know that it helps to have faith that you will see each other again, and I know that nothing can take the place in your lives of your Dear Sweet Ben. I hope you find comfort in your loving memories and people who love you.

I was so shocked to hear of Ben’s passing. He was such a sweet soul. I thought of him often after he left North New Summit. He was so intelligent and a joy to talk to I enjoyed our conversations. Please know the NNSS staff and students will always hold his memory dear. God bless you and guide you as you travel the journey before you

I didn't know Ben for very long, but each and every time he was in my prescence we laughed and laughed. I thought he was so funny and such a sweetheart! Even though Harley and I haven't seen you in a while, we wanted to say how truly missed you will be. Praying for your family, rest in peace Ben! Give Jesus a high five for me!
