Beth Stewart, 91, died Monday November 1st, 2021, at her home in Salt Lake City Utah surrounded by her family. Born August 14th, 1930, in Mount Pleasant Utah to Peter Thomas and Cora Elizabeth Woolsey; she and her twin brother Bert were fifth and sixth in the line of nine children.
Beth married the love of her life, Blaine Stewart February 11, 1949, and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Logan Temple February 12, 1963. Beth had a beautiful spirit and a strong will, after losing her dad at the age of seven and two brothers while in their prime, she learned great compassion and resilience. She was a woman of sacrifice, starting at a young age growing up during the great depression, she gave up the opportunity to finish high school to go to work so that her twin could complete his schooling. She was an amazing mother, raising eight children, seven boys and one girl; coping with the heartbreak of losing Michael when he was just 2 years old.
Beth loved the outdoors, fishing, and camping; her children have very fond memories of fishing every lake in the state of Utah and visiting as many national parks as they could. She loved sports, played volleyball with her girl, softball with her boys and when she could no longer play became the best cheerleader at every child’s game she could get to. Beth loved the Utah Jazz and could often be heard yelling at her TV when the games were intense. A trait she has passed on to many of her children. She also loved to attend recreational basketball games for her kids and grandkids and would often yell at the referees at those functions. She would hug every player after every softball/basketball game.
Beth was a strong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved serving in every one of her callings. She was grateful for all the ladies that became her friends from relief society and served twice as Relief Society president. Beth would volunteer her time to do humanitarian work at Welfare Square well into her 80’s. She was an amazing woman, and her absence is felt deeply by those who cared for her most, but we know she is happily reunited with her husband and son.
She is survived in death by her children, Terry (Linda), Jerry (Susan), Beth Ann (Alvin), Dave, Alan (Char), Roy, and Tom (Janet); and her sister Ramona Trevort. She is preceded in death by her son Michael and her husband Blaine.
A Viewing will be held Friday November 5th, from 6pm to 8pm at the LDS church house located at 1401 West 700 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84104. Services will be held Saturday November 6th, with a short viewing from 9am to 9:45am and service to start at 10am at the same LDS church house. A zoom link will be available for the service. Interment will be Saturday November 6th 2pm at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 900 S 100 E. Mt. Pleasant Utah. Flowers may be sent to Larkin Mortuary Downtown, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City UT 84111.

Beth was always friendly and generous and genuinely wanted to know how you were doing. Although she was a soft spoken person, her kindness said everything. My sincerest condolences to her closest!
So sorry for your loss. Beth was so special. She always had a kind word. I wish I were able to be there. I will miss her sweet spirit.
My condolences to the Stewart family at this time of grief and loss of such a noble lady. I have known Beth for many years living in the Edison Ward and was privileged to be her visiting teacher several times. Our children were friends and grew up together, my children were always welcome in her home. Beth was a sweet lady and I always felt I was in the presence of a kind, beautiful soul. Her light radiant countenance depicted who she was. I loved her dearly and her presence will be missed but so happy that after a life of service she is reunited with loved ones.
