Betty passed on August 10, 2023 at Riverway Assisted Living in South Jordan, Utah. She said every day how much she loved living there and the friendships she made.

She was born January 21, 1931 to George and Hazel Butterfield in Bingham, Utah. She met her sweetheart, Robert Covington. They married on January 28, 1949. Together they had 5 children and numerous pets. They spent most of their time camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, and enjoying the great outdoors as a family along with many lifetime friends and their families. She loved sewing, canning and food storage and arts and craft projects.

Betty met everyone with a giant smile and gave the best hugs ever. She had a big heart and was a true earth angel. She was kind, loving and caring. Her hugs and smiles will be missed by many. She was a loving mother and great friend to many.

Betty is survived by her daughters Charlene (Louie) Arko, Penny (Owen) Minnick; grandchildren Brandie (Bryce), Cory (Stephanie), Tiffany (Shawn), Michael (Aubree), Bryan, Brad, and Jamie; great grandchildren Bella, Lexi, Samantha, Locke and Vanessa.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert; three children Kieth, Craig, Pam; and granddaughter Cherry; parents George and Hazel; and sister Donna. Along with many cats and dogs that she loved and cared for throughout her life.

We would like to give special thanks to Britanee and Nelly with Ashby Home Health and Hospice for the loving care they gave her. We would also like to thank all the staff at Riverway Assisted Living for all their love and support. And a very special thank you to Dr. Shepherd with House Call Doctors. We appreciate the love and care that you provided her. She loved you all very much!
