Listen to Obituary

Beverly Jeanette Klein, age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the beloved eldest child of William and Afton Klein.

As a young girl, Beverly had a love for sewing and playing the accordion. As a teenager she taught both in order to earn money. She attended Olympus high school, where she graduated in 1960. In August 1961, she married Joe Reese, and together they raised six children. Though Beverly and Joe divorced in 1994, she remained devoted to her family throughout her life.

Beverly enjoyed many hobbies: she loved bowling in her younger years, playing games and cards with family and friends, and she was always reading a good book. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Whether it was attending sporting events or music recitals, “Grandma Bev” could always be found cheering in the crowd.

Beverly held various jobs during her working years. She excelled as a secretary and administrative assistant. She was the fastest typist most people had ever seen, and watched in awe as she typed nearly 150 words a minute. Later in her career she formed her own company doing paralegal work. Ultimately, she would go to work at the administrative offices for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, working in the auditing and cultural arts departments, where she would eventually retire.

One of the fondest traditions Beverly created was inviting her grandchildren over in small groups each Christmas season to make treats together — a memory cherished by all. Her thoughtful touch extended to every holiday, often sending a $2 bill tucked inside a festive card to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren — a tradition that will be dearly missed.

Beverly was devastated by the untimely loss of her eldest son, Cory. She shared a deep bond with her mother, Afton, who was her best friend. She greatly looked forward to the reunion with them — a joyous moment that has now come to pass.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Afton Klein, and her eldest son, Cory (Linda) Reese.

Beverly is survived by her brother Rick (Marialice) Klein, her five children: Tammy Mansell, Debbie (Jim) Hass, Kristen Candy Piper, Dori (Jeff) Dudley, and Carlan (Kristen) Reese; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren who brought her endless pride and happiness.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in the knowledge that families are forever. Beverly’s kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will continue to bless the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We know she is joyfully reunited with her loved ones in Heaven, and we look forward to the day we will all be together again.

Bev was my cousin. My mother and her mother were sisters. I remember her playing the accordion,I was a flower girl in her wedding which was in my family’s backyard. She was a beautiful bride.I watched her family get larger and her children grow up. She was a wonderful mother. She loved her children and her grandchildren so much. She was so sweet and kind. We would see each other at least once a year for many years. We would share stories and laugh and enjoy family. I spoke to her about a month ago and she shared how much she liked where she was living and she was near her son and family’. She seemed very happy- We will all miss her smile and sweetness. I know she is with her loved ones now and will be happy there.

I a sure the memories she has left her loved ones will bring much comfort thru the years.
