Obituary

Beverly Merrill, age 92, passed away peacefully with her son at her side on May 10, 2026, in Kaysville, Utah. Beverly was born on May 6, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph and Elizabeth Jane Taylor Oborn. She married Stephen Jarvis Merrill and together they raised four wonderful sons, Bruce, Raymond, Gary, and Wayne. They were married for 46 years until Stephen’s passing in 2006. Beverly was lost without her sweetheart and we know their reunion has been a happy one!

Beverly had a heart of service. She was the proud mother of four Eagle Scouts and put in so much time and effort towards merit badges she may as well have been an honorary Eagle Scout herself! She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a longtime member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was feminine, friendly, and kind, loved to socialize, and loved pink!

Beverly is survived by her son Bruce (Karen), her daughter-in-law Kathy Merrill, several grandchildren, and even more great-grandchildren! She is preceded in death by her husband Stephen and her sons Raymond, Gary, and Wayne.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 16, from 12:00-12:45 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E Dimple Dell Road (10600 S) in Sandy, followed by a graveside service at the same location at 1:00 PM. Please join us in celebrating the long life of this wonderful lady.

Tributes

Beverly is much loved and missed at our DUP Wagon Wheel Camp. We enjoyed being with her there and missed her when she couldn’t be with us anymore. She was a delight to talk with and served us so well the last few years, always prepared to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. She was thoughtful and kind. We love her so!

Jolene Draney Whitmer

So sorry for your loss Bruce! She was one of our moms best friends.
