Blaine Austin Spackman

1940 ~ 2022


Blaine Austin Spackman passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Millcreek, Utah on Thursday October 13th, 2022, at the age of 81, beloved husband of Betty Jean Spackman of Sandy, Utah.

Blaine was born December 20th, 1940, in Lethbridge Alberta Canada to William Henry and Annabelle Spackman. He was the youngest of 12 children. He served a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints mission in California from 1961 to 1963. He met the love of his life Betty Jean Bracha on a blind date in Lethbridge Alberta, Canada and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Cardston Alberta Temple on June 8th, 1968.

An avid sports fan, he loved watching his BYU Cougars, San Francisco 49ers, and New York Yankees. He also enjoyed playing many sports, but basketball and softball were his favorite. He loved working with his Walmart family. He also loved his 2 fur babies Bear and Scamp.

Blaine is preceded in death by his 11 brothers and sisters and his mother and father. He is survived by his wife Betty Jean; son, Donald (wife Darlene); daughter, Sandra; Grandkids, Jeffry (wife Dare), Robert (Fiancée Maddi), Austin, Dustin; great grandkids, Zoey, Declan; and one on the way.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 21 at 11:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel located at 10312 Ashley Park Drive, Sandy. A viewing will begin at 9:30am. Interment and dedication of the grave will follow the service at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South Sandy, Utah, with a luncheon to follow back at the chapel.
