Our dear father, grandfather, "Grandpa-Great", brother, uncle and friend passed through the veil to join his beloved sweetheart Nadine and many other family members and friends.
Blaine was the second of six children born January 21, 1934 on a little farm in West Jordan, Utah to Ezra and Priel (Nielsen) Anderson. At birth, he was sickly and they didn't know if he would make it. Blaine defied his odds and grew into a very healthy boy and man.
Blaine worked his first job at the age of seven making change and pumping gas at the comer gas station. Throughout grade school he worked on the family farm and later'the family store. Blaine was 6'3 in the 8th grade when he was chosen to be his class president and found his love for basketball. He attended Jordan High School and played basketball for the Beetdiggers taking them to State his Junior year. They won the Class 5A Championship and he was chosen to be the MVP. His Senior year, he was elected as Student Body President and once again took his team to State where they came in 2nd and he was picked to be co-MVP. He was also the only player from Utah to be chosen for the All Star team to play the MacDonald Championship in Kentucky.
Blaine was offered scholarships to U ofU, USU, and Columbia, but ultimately chose to play ball for BYU. This is where he made lifelong friends and met his beautiful Nadine. They fell in love on the dance floor and were married on August 1, 1955 in the Logan, Utah Temple.
Blaine worked for BYU Credit Union. He and Nadine made their home in Orem, Utah where they were blessed with 4 children that they loved dearly. He would often pack the family up on camping trips with their best friends and make forever memories at Goblin Valley, Lake Creek, and Buckhorn Draw.
They later moved to St .George and then Las Vegas where he managed the Sonepco Credit Union until he retired. Following retirement in 1995 Blaine and Nadine made their way back to northern Utah before starting their mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Together they served at the Family History Center from 1999-2003. First as missionaries, and then as councilors in the presidency. They also served in China from 2005-2006 teaching English to students who adored them and kept in touch long after they left the country.
In 2006, after many years dedicated to service, Blaine and Nadine settled in Draper, Utah. This was their final home where they established dear friendships with neighbors and ward members. They loved being close to family and were very involved with their grand kids activities. They attended many school programs, sporting events, music and dance recitals, blessings, baptisms, farewells and homecomings, annual Lake Powell family vacations, and Sunday dinners.
Blaine has dearly missed his Nadine these last 8 years since her passing. In his grief, he emulated the Savior by dedicating his time to service. He served the members of his family, his ward, and spent each week for years serving in the Draper Temple. He truly lived a life centered around his love of his Savior and His gospel. We love and miss him greatly but we know that there is great joy in the reunion with his sweetheart Nadine.
Blaine is survived by his children, Todd (Tricia), Shawn (Stephanie) and Tonya Young, grandchildren, Chris (Lauren), Josh, Tyler (Alisha), Sydney (Ross), Cameron (Chloe), Chase (Amber), Ryan (Maren), Alec, Ashley (Grayson), Ben and Cyd (Jester), 15 great grandchildren and two sisters Loraine (Hal) Robinson and Mary Kay Burgess.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nadine, daughter Nicole Anderson, son in-law Lee Young and grandson Brandon Anderson

What a great man. Loving and sweet, we always enjoyed visiting he and Nadine. I'm sure he is thrilled to be with her again.
We are so sorry to hear of Blaine’s passing. Our family loves your family. Sheryl and I especially remember “Supper Club” nights at our house hearing a lot of laughter and jokes. We send our love; especially from our father, Vern. Mom and Dad love your family. Dawn was especially close to Nadine and they sometimes spend hours on the phone talking. We love you, Anderson family. From Vern (and Dawn), Lisa, Sheryl, and Shana.
I really enjoyed serving in the Draper Temple on Wednesday with brother Anderson. His humility showed brightly each week as he diligently served the many patrons who came to the temple. I have missed seeing Blaine each week
Blaine was one of the best people I know. I enjoyed every minute I got to spend with him. His laugh was so genuine. Sending love to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed ❤️
