Blake Matthew Gillman, 30, of West Jordan, passed away on April 17, 2026. He was born on November 22, 1995, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Blake was the kind of person who made everyone around him feel welcome, comfortable, and loved. A gentle giant, he gave the best bear hugs and had a way of bringing joy to every room he entered.
Blake grew up in the Herriman area, where he attended Herriman High School and was part of the Rose Canyon 3rd Ward community. From a young age, he had a larger-than-life personality and a heart to match. Whether he was settling disagreements between friends or simply making someone laugh, Blake was always the peacemaker—the one people could count on to keep things light and bring others together.
Blake loved life and lived it on his own terms. He was an avid online gamer, spending countless hours playing World of Warcraft with friends near and far. He took great pride in his vehicles, especially his red Corvette and his burnt-orange Tacoma. He was also well known for his love of Taco Bell.
One of Blake’s greatest joys was going on Royal Caribbean cruises, where he became a familiar face at the onboard casino. His family often teased him about his frequent visits to the slots—until the day he won $21,000 and had the last laugh. Fiercely protective of his sisters and family, Blake will always be remembered as their guardian spirit.
Blake is survived by his father, Matthew Gillman; his mother, Joanne Chapman; his stepfather, Michael Chapman; his sisters, Madison Gillman (fiancé Timothy Cameron), Kerigan Gillman, Samantha Chapman, and Meredith Chapman; and his brothers, William Chapman and Isaac Chapman.
He is also survived by his grandparents, Carol Ann and George Stahl, and Louis Gillman and his wife, Nancy; his aunts and uncles, Susan and Ross Hager, Adam and Jodi Gillman, Joshua and Heidi Gillman, Jonathon Gillman, Stephanie Gillman and Ray Liu, and Brian and Alison Leavitt; along with many aunts and uncles on the Chapman side, countless cousins, and many dear friends and extended family members who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carol Gillman, and his grandfather, Robert Leavitt.
May Blake find everlasting peace and rest in the arms of the Lord.
