Jones Kay Christensen returned to his Heavenly Father on October 14, 2014. Kay was born in Spanish Fork, Utah on April 21, 1933 to Casey and Melba Christensen. Kay married the love of his life, Pauline Harness on December 14, 1957. At the age of 17 he joined the Air Force and served in Korea. While in the Air Force he began his college studies. He later attended BYU and completed his BS degree at Weber State. Kay enjoyed a successful career. He worked in various management roles at Thiokol, Staley's, Mattel Toys and National Semiconductor from which he retired in 1995.
Kay was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings. His favorite was serving as the leader of the 11-year old scouts where he influenced the lives of many. Kay was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Kay loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping and spending time with his family. Kay was a big fan of BYU sports and the Utah Jazz.
Kay is survived by Pauline Christensen and his children, Greg (Janan), Julie (Miguel), Mike (Heather), 22 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving daughter Brenda (Einar) Schow and his sister Myrna Swenson of Benjamin, Utah.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20, 2014 at 12:00 pm at the LDS Northridge building, 11196 South Wasatch Boulevard, Sandy. The services will be preceded by a viewing beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be at the Alpine Cemetery.
