Obituary Photo for Bobbie Wayne McWilliams Doidge

Bobbie Wayne McWilliams Doidge was born in Aberdeen, MS. on April 23, 1931. She died on February 9, 2025, at the age of 93. Bobbie brought joy and warmth to all who met her. Her incredible and wonderful life is celebrated by family and friends.

In 1958, she became a stewardess with Westen Airlines and loved traveling. This brought her to Utah. On a blind date, she met and then later married the love of her life, Robert Doidge.

She had two wonderful children, Bill and Diane, whom she adored and loved seeing them grow and succeed. She was mother, mentor, and role model for them. Her grandchildren were one of her greatest joys. She loved spending time with them. Her passions included cooking and gardening. She loved roses and had a name for every rose bush in her yard. She was generous with both her love and her time. She loved making almond cakes for the Westminster Silver Tea, which helped raise money for the school. She was a member and past President of Westminster Women’s Board. She was a past state president of P.E.O. Sisterhood (Philanthropic Educational Organization) and believed in the educational opportunities for female students worldwide. She was a member of Wasatch Presbyterian Church, where she was a wedding director and assisted many brides to have their perfect wedding.

Bobbie was selfless in her service to her family and her friends. She loved her neighborhood and loved her neighbors, and made a point to make them feel welcomed. She loved a good party and was a wonderful hostess. She was an elegant southern belle and gracious in every way. Bobbie had a way of putting you at ease even if you just met her. She valued the bonds of family and friendship.

She is preceded in death by Robert E Doidge. They were married for 61 wonderful years at the time of his death.

She has two children: William W Doidge (Briget), and Diane Crow (Terry). She has 3 grandchildren, Heather Olson, Paul Robert Wood, and Ryan Wayne Doidge.

The family would like to thank Canyons Home Care and Hospice for the care and compassion that they showed to her, and to the staff of the Ridge Assisted Living on Foothill for the kindness and love that they gave to our mother. “Those who knew her, knew what she did. Those who did not know her, don’t care”.

The family will be holding a private funeral service.

I was sorry to learn of Bobbie's death.
I know that she was ready, as the last time I spoke with her, she told me that she had lived too long.
I feel fortunate to have known her and to have served on the Utah P.E.O. state board with her.
She was a special woman and set a good example of sisterhood and leadership.
