Bonnie Jeannine Pedersen Kilgrow

1928 ~ 2022

It is with much sadness and joy that we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.

Bonnie Jeannine Pedersen Kilgrow passed to reunite with her family and friends Sunday, August 7, 2022 at her home with her family. She passed peacefully in her sleep, just as she always said she would.

She was born June 6, 1928 in Murray, Utah at the newly opened Cottonwood Maternity Hospital. She lived for a few years with her family in Park City before moving to Riverton, Utah. She attended Jordan High School and worked for the State of Utah for many years. Later she and her husband and children moved to the Murray, Utah area, where she stayed and raised her children.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her father, Kristen Swensen Pedersen, her mother, Nevada Sophia Butterfield Pedersen, her brothers, and one great grandchild. She is survived by her children, Sherren Hewitt (Larry, deceased), Jeannine Lund (Charles, deceased), Carrie Meservy (Dennis), Sonny (Letitia), Danny (Marlene), Karla Thompson (Tom), Bryan, Sondra Gary (Marion, deceased), and Jason (Mollie) Kilgrow.

As a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she served in numerous callings over the years. We think Mom would like to be remembered for the legacy of love, faith, service and hard work she leaves to her nine children, twenty-one grandchildren, and thirty-three great grandchildren. Her children look to her as an excellent example of kindness, service, determination, and perseverance. We look to her for our work ethic. We remember the service she offered to her family as they aged, and the care she offered to assist them with their physical limitations. She loved to laugh and enjoyed a good (or sometimes not so good) joke. What a sense of humor. He grandchildren and the older great grandchildren will remember her stubborn and feisty spirit.

Mom loved dancing and her flowers. Her family rejoices with her that she can once again run and dance and enjoy the ethereal beauty that is surrounding her.

We’ll miss you mom. But we all know how happy you are now. Thank you for your love and kindness to us all. Your many family members are fortunate for knowing you.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday August 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E Dimple Dell Road in Sandy. A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the services.

Guestbook/Condolences

When I was a teen and working with Danny at Uniroyal, busting tires... I ended up with nowhere to live and Bonnie took me in for a spell. She was going through some really rough stuff at that time and holding down a home full of kids. I remember her being a kind woman who didn't question my presence in the home at all.
I remember she baked the most delicious bread in cylindric canisters... I'll never forget those wonderful round slices of bread.
My condolences to Danny and the family for their loss. Heaven is a place suited for people like Bonnie.
