I was meaning to speak at my dad's services but I lost the paper that had everything written on so I'd like to post it here:
FROM THE TIME I WAS SMALL I LOOKED UP TO YOU
AND NOW THAT I'VE GROWN UP , YOU'RE THE HERO
THAT I NEVER OUTGREW
FROM SITTING ATOP GIANT SHOULDERS TO SEE
ABOVE THE CROWD, TO SWINGING FROM STRONG
ARMS, DAD, I'M FOREVER "WOWED"
TO RUNNING ALONGSIDE MY BIKE, TO TEACHING
STRENGTH WHEN I WOULD FALL
TO INSISTING I WORK HARD IN SCHOOL, TO LOVING
ME THROUGH IT ALL
GROWING UP WAS HARD, BUT DAD YOUR
PRESENCE LIT MY WAY, YOU LED ME ALONG LIFES PATH
BESIDE ME ALL THE WAY, I WANT TO SAY I LOVE YOU AND I'M
GRATEFUL FOR THE TIMES WE'VE HAD, IN MY HEART YOU ARE MY HERO
ALL MY LIFE YOU ARE MY DAD. ~
TO THE BEST DAD EVER, THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS MAKING ME FEEL LOVED DESPITE MY MANY MISTAKES.
I AM SO PROUD TO BE ABLE TO CALL YOU MY DAD AND I LOVE YOU FOREVER. ~PATTI
