After a long hard battle with many health problems and several hospitalizations the last year of his life Brent fought valiantly overcoming overwhelming odds and beating several of his ailments. However, on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at the age of 76, with his family at his side Brent LaVern Sharp passed away peacefully in the hospital.
Brent was known for his love of life and family. He loved spending time with family (especially the grandchildren), camping, gardening, sports, golfing, hunting, fishing, guns and shopping. He had quite a sense of humor and was a practical joker. He owned and operated Mr. Brake for several years. He had a big heart and tried to help anyone that needed it. He managed Northwest Passage Halfway house for a few years and was able to help many. He also worked at Harmon's Groceries in Produce where he was able to share his extensive retail knowledgeable from his younger years working for Safeway. Many customers came in and asked for him because he would take his time to help and explain. Brent was a proud Veteran for 5 years serving in the 96th US Army Reserves.
He married Claudia Sharp, the love of his life, in 1964 in the Salt Lake temple, who survives him. Brent is also survived by his children Michelle, (Scott), Kelly (Denise), Shawn (Christine) and Teague, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Ashley, Madison, Allison, Bentlee, Cameron, Tyler and Derek. Also, three great-grandchildren, William, Hux and Ivie, and his beloved sister Patricia Holland (husband Mace). Brent was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Francis. Two brothers and a sister, Freddy, Steve and Judy.
The viewing will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 6:00-8:00 PM at Larkin Mortuary in Riverton Utah. The Memorial services will be held at Larkin Mortuary in Riverton on January 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Larkin Mortuary is located at 3688 West 12600 South, Riverton Utah, dedication of grave and burial to follow at Camp Williams Veterans Memorial Park.
