Brent Rushton Blair passed quietly in his home on November 6, 2021, with his loving wife, Becky, by his side.

Brent was born November 22, 1948, in Rigby, Idaho. He enjoyed playing sports. His love of baseball earned him the nickname, Yogi, after the great Yogi Berra. Brent loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and racing through Yellowstone on his snowmobile.

Brent’s greatest love was his family. He was determined to make Becky Lee Haggard his wife. His greatest accomplishment was taking her to the Idaho Falls Temple to be married and sealed together for time and eternity on March 16, 1979. Becky was the light of his life. He was elated when his son, Alec became part of the family. His happiest times were spent providing for and protecting his family. He loved going on adventures with them. Their trip to Hawaii was a highlight for them all. He was a loving big brother to his two sisters, Jann and Julie and he treasured spending time with his brother Clay.

Brent loved serving the Lord. His strong testimony carried him through life. He served a mission in England, was a member of several bishoprics, and served on the high council. He was always willing to teach others and share his testimony. He was known for his wisdom and patience. People sought him out for his counsel.

Most of Brent’s working years were spent as an outside salesperson for industrial equipment. His goal was to always make sure his clients understood the equipment that they purchased.

Brent is survived by his wife, Becky, and his son Alec, his two sisters, Jann (Jack) Pruitt and Julie (Bruce) Jones, sister-in-law Kip (Jeff) Wood and many nieces and nephews.

Brent is proceeded in death by his parents, Erwin and Halley Blair, his brothers, Layne and Clay, and his sister, JoBeth.

Services celebrating his life will be Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 11 am with visitation taking place 1 hour prior. The services will be held at the chapel on 10885 Pampas Drive, Sandy, Utah.

Family and friends may attend a visitation on Tuesday, November 16 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah.

Graveside services and burial will take place at 1PM on November 18th at Fielding Memorial in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

I was a HS classmate of Brent. Yogi was so much fun to be around and an all around good guy. I am so sorry for your loss.

    Becky:

I had tried to find both of you last fall and had sent a letter to your Sandy address, which appeared you might have moved. Today I was listening to a cassette I had if Goin’ Home so decided to Google again.

I just found that Yogi passed away last November. Please accept our condolences.

We had recently been talking to some friends and flashed back in our trip over the pass only to be hauled off to jail. We go back to IF every summer to get out of the summer AZ heat. Let us know where you are at.

    Sincerely
