Brigham Darger, loving son, father, brother and friend, unexpectedly transcended this life July 30, 2023 at his home in Southern Utah. He was born November 29, 1988 at his parents' home in Taylorsville, Utah.

Brigham leaves his beautiful and beloved fiancé Maria Jose Leon and was a dedicated father to his son Kwahli and his daughter Azlin whom he loved deeply. He is survived by his mother Shauna Lynne (Barlow), bonus mothers Melinda, Brenda, and Debbie, the mother of his children Quilla, a multitude of siblings, nieces, nephews and family, by choice and by birth, who dearly loved him. He was preceded in death by multiple grandparents, his niece Kyra, and his father Joseph Lynn Darger who adored Brigham.

Brigham was never a conformist and lived a colorful and full life, including several near death experiences that shifted the trajectory of his life. Some knew him as Brigham, others knew him as Patryck Engen. He never shied away from experiencing everything and through it all had found his peace and embraced his roots as Brigham Darger.

His passion in life was to create healing in the service of others and he dedicated his life to it. He created community and connection with people wherever he went, and spent time and resources developing his property in Southern Utah as a healing center. He spent years in the Amazon training to become a well-respected Taita and served people worldwide with indigenous medicine. He is known for his courage, love and commitment to carry the medicine with honor, respect and humility.

He merged with The Light at the end of his life; he remembered himself one with the “I AM Presence”.
Brave and compassionate heart, thank you for your service.

In one word, Brigham was love.

His body will be cremated and ashes spread on the land he loved. Due to his young age and lack of life insurance, for those wishing to send condolences we encourage a donation instead to the memorial funds created at Mountain America Credit Union or through Venmo at https://venmo.com/u/bpdfund.

A Celebration of Brigham's life will take place at Noon on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Larkin Mortuary - Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South in Riverton, Utah. We invite all who knew and loved him to wear your favorite color, or his favorite color (purple). Public visitations will take place at the same location on Friday August 4, 2023 from 6-8PM as well as Saturday prior to services beginning at 10:30AM.

Funeral services will be streamed via Zoom for those wishing to attend the services virtually. To watch the previously held funeral services, please click the "Watch Services" link above.

Guestbook/Condolences

Pondering back to when catering was up and running. I worked late to get all of the baked goods out for the next day.
Brigham would come in to do some cleaning from that days events.
He was in his teens if I remember correctly. We would talk about whatever came up. His presence felt calm and quiet yet his face showed much more. Something was stirring on the inside, like he had so much to say but didn't know how to say it or who to say it too. I enjoyed talking to him and looked forward to him coming in because most of the time I was the only one there.
Moving on from catering the thought of Brigham and our conversations played through my mind. I often wondered how he was doing, what he was up to. In a way, hoping we'd reconnect especially because he was older and possibly not to shy to hold back on what was on his mind.
I never did get the chance to reconnect with Brigham but always felt he was in my heart. He will remain in my heart.
I am truly and deeply sorry for your loss. I hear he has touched many lives through his healing ways. I'm sending you all love and I hope he continues to heal himself and all the ones that will be thinking about him daily. ❤️
Namaste!!

Brigham was, is, and always will remain a beautiful soul. His light permeated through his gentle and loving teachings. His gifts were immense, and had such a profound impact on my life when I needed him most. My little family is sending so much love to yours, especially his beautiful children I was happy to know. Time and time again in this crazy world I am reminded no pain is unmet with gold. And the seeds our Brigham planted will indeed be watered during our time of grief in losing our dear brother. We love you Brigham.

I am terribly sad to hear this news while I'm far away here in New Zealand.
Its hard to believe such an amazing light and soul has left so soon.

Thank you Brigham for sharing your own personal medicines and offerings, thank you Shauna and Jason for showing up and being such a massive impact in my life.

My time in Utah was precious to say the least staying with Brigham and the children and the Darger family. I could see Brighams love and commitment to them was pure and deep, everything he did was for love and healing. He rests as a brave and courageous heart, serving humanity with his light and presence.

My heart pours out to the Darger family, my dearest American family whom I love so much, may his love surround you all now and always

Your smile could heal a room of pain. I’ll never forget the love you shown me even at a young age. This world is a little darker with you gone and although I feel you’re still needed here, apparently you are needed more at heavens gates. May you rest in peace knowing you leave behind a legacy of love for everyone you have touched.

HI SPIRITUAL BROTHER,

Though you have moved on ahead of us, your spirit remains. Remember? The first time I laid eyes on you in the bus, the first thing I said after I troduced myself was…” You have a very nice spiritual aura” and you simply said which later on I realised was your usual demeanor….Thank you with a very slight smile. Despite thel lack of smiles on your face unlike all of us, you r internal aura of kindness and acceptance of life emanates from your very soul level. Again, I will always remember your sincere and immediate reply to my invittion to share your Egypt experience in my book. I did not know then that statement will document your premonition of your early death. In page 47 of My Egypt Story with Matias, you said and I quote “ I felt like I was in a sweat lodge. There was a very beautiful Goddess present there, and I felt myself inside the womb .” Which you went to a year after. We will miss you, but you will always be in our hearts. Ttill we meet again my kindred spirit. For we live in the eternal essence.
