Britaney S. Crump

1974 ~ 2023

Britaney S. Crump, 49, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Eagle Mountain, Utah on November 26, 2023. She was born May 22, 1974 to Douglas and Bonnie Best Smith. Britaney’s childhood years were spent in Riverton, Utah.

Britaney graduated from Bingham High School in 1992. While at Bingham, Britaney met her future husband and love of her life, Lance Crump. They married on August 12, 1994 in the Jordan River Temple. They eventually settled into their first home in Eagle Mountain, Utah. They welcomed their son, Coleman, in July 2000. After a time, the couple was blessed to have a daughter, Paige, in May 2008.

Britaney’s greatest joy was motherhood.

Her happiest memories were created while traveling with family. Britaney could find any reason to travel, from quick trips to international excursions. She would begin planning the next vacation almost immediately upon getting home. She was particularly fond of any beach, especially those in Southern California and Mexico. Her love for family memories led to a passion for family history. She enjoyed discovering and retelling her ancestors’ stories. She was a source of knowledge to her family and was always happy to share and help passing that history on.

She was giving and generous, actively engaged in service through her church and community. Britaney loved gardening and caring for nature. Her time outside in nature was therapeutic. She would secretly weed neighbors’ flower beds as an act of service. Britaney’s time in nature also extended to her beloved dogs. She cared deeply for Abby and Simi, generously giving treats to them at even the slightest beg.

Britaney worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Mat Mouritsen in West Jordan for a number of years. Most recently, she was a substitute teacher for the Alpine School District. She had a tender heart for children. She enjoyed seeing how students progressed from elementary through high school. She was excited to recognize and remember high school students that she had previously taught in elementary school. She enjoyed the friendships she made with the faculty and staff in the district.

Britaney is loved by many. Her absence will be deeply felt by friends and family. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Lance Crump; her son, Coleman; her daughter, Paige; her parents, Doug and Bonnie, siblings Bronson, Aliesha, Spencer, and Sydney; and her many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by Lois Crump, mother-in-law; Quintin and Gladys Best, grandparents; Allen and Ramona Smith, grandparents; and Jaramey Smith, an infant brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Meadow Ranch 1st Ward, 3382 East Spring Mountain Dr. (formerly Hill Side Drive) Eagle Mountain, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to funeral services beginning at 9:30AM. Interment will follow at the Bluffdale City Cemetery.

Funeral services will be streamed via Zoom for those wishing to attend virtually. To attend virtually, please click the "Watch Services" link above.

My friend.
I will always remember the first day we spoke.
I will always remember the hundreds of miles we walked around Nolen Park .
I will always remember when you told me you were having a second baby! What a miracle!
I will always remember the day you left a pink note in my mailbox letting me know you were having a baby girl!
The love for your kids was palpable.
I was blessed to know you and have you as my friend.
We will keep Lance, Coleman, and Paige in our prayers.

It was such a privilege to attend the virtual broadcast of the services today and to feel the spirit of love and peace that was present. I was sorry that I could not attend in person. You have a beautiful family and I was so touched by the tributes to your beautiful daughter Britaney. Please accept my deepest condolences. All our families were so involved in our years at Bingham, it is an especially tender loss when our children leave us too soon. May the comfort and company of angels abide with you and your loved ones. We send all our love. The Khong Family
