It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bryce Kenneth Bird, a beloved son, brother, friend, and adventurer. Born on May 4, 1983, in Sandy, Utah, Bryce brought immense joy and enthusiasm to the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He left this world on August 12, 2023, at the age of 40.

Bryce's journey began in Sandy, where he was welcomed into the loving embrace of his parents, Steven and Gaylynn Bird. A graduate of Skyline High School's Class of 2002, Bryce's insatiable curiosity and determination were evident from an early age. These qualities led him to the University of Utah, where he graduated in 2010 with a degree in economics. His academic accomplishments were a testament to his dedication and intellectual curiosity.

Known affectionately as "Birdman" to his friends, Bryce was a free spirit who found solace and excitement in the great outdoors. His love for boxing, rock climbing, snowboarding, skate boarding, and water sports was surpassed only by his deep connection to nature.

Bryce’s greatest companion in life was his loyal dog, Tabbi. They were inseparable and she brought him great joy. Their bond exemplified the pure and unwavering love that exists between humans and their four-legged friends. Bryce's nurturing spirit extended beyond his canine companion, as he also fostered strong friendships that spanned the breadth of his interests and adventures.

Bryce leaves behind a legacy of enthusiasm, perseverance, and an unyielding zest for life. He will be remembered for his memorable laughter, boundless energy, and his ability to inspire those around him to embrace the richness of every moment.

As we bid farewell to Bryce Kenneth Bird, we find comfort in the memories he created and the impact he made on the lives of many. He is survived by his parents, Steven and Gaylynn Bird, siblings Jennifer (Kris) Larson, Todd (Fawn) Bird, Melissa (James) Huntington as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews, extended family members and a community of friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Rest in peace, Bryce. We love you and you will be missed.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11:00 am at Larkin Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.), Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 10:00 to 10:45 am.

Interment will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.

There will be a Celebration of Life honoring Bryce on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Lone Peak Park, 10140 S. 700 E., Sandy from 7:30-9:30 pm.

Guestbook/Condolences

With thoughts and prayers with you at your time of such great loss. May the Lord bless and keep you in your hours if grief!

I have such good memories of Bryce. He was the cutest kid growing up and always a soft-spoken, sweet soul. The world was a better place when he was in it. I'm so saddened by his loss but mainly I'm saddened by the loss his parents feel. I have no idea what it is like to bury a child, but I imagine it is the most agonizing thing a person can experience. Gay and Steve, you and your family are in my prayers and thoughts right now. There are no words to take this pain from you, except maybe those words uttered to a loving God who literally and figuratively knows what you are going through. He alone can provide the balm to help you endure this anguish. I love and think of you both so much right now.

Bryce was the nicest guy. He had the best smile. He was always genuine. He was easy to be around and to talk to. I was so glad that my son Danny and Bryce were cousins and had the chance to grow up together. There is so much love for Bryce and his family.

We just want you to know that you have been in our prayers. This is a hard time for you but you have family that cares. Even though we couldn’t be there we were able to see the service on zoom. What a great legacy our families left us. Know we love you and are praying for the peace that the gospel brings for you and yours.

I worked with Bryce between 2019-2021 at HealthEquity. I am so grateful that I got to know him and work along side him. Bryce was the ever stalwart example of constantly striving for excellence and hard work. He had a calm and genuine personality and was always willing to lend a hand or share his advice. He was such a great example to those around him and I greatly admired him for these and many other qualities. With all my heart felt condolences. RIP good friend. Until me meet again in the mansions of heaven.
