Paul Wayne Taylor was surrounded by his loving family as he passed away on January 12th, 2018 due to complications from a brain aneurysm. He was sixty-five years old. Paul was born on July 11th, 1952 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, the first-born son to Joyce and Lee Taylor. As a child, he brought joy to their hearts through a simple love of tractor toys, a delight in comics, and a very orthodox love of breakfast. He graduated from Skyline High School in 1970 and worked as a baker and stonemason until he was old enough to get behind the wheel of one of his beloved trucks, where he remained for a dedicated forty years. Paul was the epitome of a hard-worker. He fulfilled every obligation required of him promptly and above what was expected. He was loved by the customers he delivered explosives to, as well as friends he grew to know and love along the way.
Paul loved traveling and was always looking for old mining towns, a fragment in history, or whatever else he could find. However, his greatest love was for his children, whom he enjoyed bringing along to see fun, new, and interesting things and places he had discovered. His children always came first, and they will forever cherish the genuine attentiveness that was given unconditionally, despite the mundaneness or insignificance of a problem or struggle. He was there to celebrate on the good days, to comfort on the bad ones, and to support each one at every basketball, baseball, football, and soccer game in between. Paul's love of his children translated unhindered to his grandchildren. A typical Saturday for him was spent meticulously washing his truck before eagerly going to visit family, most often his grandchildren. He often remarked that he was trying to keep up his health through surgery or other means for the sole purpose of seeing them grow up. He loved them dearly.
Paul is preceded in death by his younger sister, Joylee Brattos. He is survived by his parents, Joyce and Lee Taylor; his three children, Paul (Mandi), Alisa, and Christopher (Kia); his three granddaughters, Paisley, Charli, and Jayden; his youngest brother, David (Marie); one nephew, Steven (Lynae); and one niece, Emilee. Funeral services for Paul will commence with viewing services Friday, January 19th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to a formal service that will begin at noon. All services will be held at the Val Verda 5th Ward Chapel (2633 S. 50 W., Bountiful, UT 84010). Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
The Taylor family also wishes to give special thanks to the El Bambi Café in Beaver, Utah who took care of Paul along his route with wonderful friendship and wonderful breakfast.
