  • C. Jeannine Anderson Turner was born April 9, 1931 to Edward Abner Anderson and Elma Caroline Anderson of Salt Lake City, Utah. Jeannine passed away peacefully on November 25, 2020.

Jeannine was raised in Salt Lake City with her five siblings; her sisters, LaVerne Birdsall (d), Betty Ross and Ingrid Pacheco, and her brothers, Edward (Sonny) Anderson (d) and Richard Anderson (d), who were adored by Jeannine. She grew up during the depression and learned to work hard at a young age. She worked as an elevator operator in order to assist her mother and family where she could.

Jeannine met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Eugene Turner, in 1951. They were married on February 2, 1952. Bob, a believer in love at first sight, has said he knew he would marry Jeannine from the moment he set eyes on her. Together they had five children, Marcia (Allen Oltmanns (d)), Ronni (d), Jo D. (Gregory Thurheimer), Daniel, and Martin (Carol). They have also been blessed with eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Nauvoo Temple on August 30, 2003.

The two of them created many memories camping and boating with their family, a tradition carried forward by their progeny. Following their retirement, they spent winters in the warmer climates of Arizona until they moved fulltime from their Sunset, UT home to Beaver Dam, AZ in 2003.

Jeannine spent her adult life devoted to her children. She was a fabulous mother, best friend and fellow prankster. She loved people and never met a stranger. Her philosophy was always put another cup of water in the soup, nobody was ever turned away from her table. If you left her house hungry it was your own fault. She was a true example of unconditional love.

She dedicated the majority of her years working in the school system. Her favorite job was teaching disadvantaged youth at Cope Jr. High School while living in Redlands, CA. She continued her service to the local children as the school librarian at Fremont Elementary upon moving to Sunset, UT, where she later retired. She loved reading to her own children as well as others, imparting the love of literature and the joy of learning new things.

The family expresses their appreciation to the friends and neighbors who have given their love and support. They would especially like to say thank you to all the staff of Highland Manor of Mesquite for the loving care they provided Jeannine during her final days. Her smiles were genuine and she loved you all.

What to say about my adopted grandma, she had more love in her heart than she could have given in a thousand lifetimes. When I moved out to Utah on a spur of the moment decision she and her husband didn’t hesitate to take me in and treat me as if I was born into her family. I have fond memories of many meals at her house, she was a wonderful cook. She helped with any problem that came up for me and was always patient and understanding. She will be missed by many and always remembered as such a wonderful loving woman. I was so sad to hear of her passing but know that she is with Heavenly Father now and probably playing a few pranks on Al.
I will forever be grateful and blessed to have had the opportunity to know her.

Sorry for the loss of your Mother. I didn't get to know her like I would have liked to because we only saw each other at Kimberly's wedding, but got to know her through Kimberley. She really loved her family and know you all will miss her so much.

The Turner children were so very fortunate to have Jeannine as their mother. I viewed her as a gentle, classy, loving and compassionate lady. Her work here is done. RIP Jeannine.

Dear Bob and family, I am saddened to realize Jeannine has passed away, although last time we talked you told me she was not doing well at all. She was always sweet and kind to me. I hope she is at peace now and ready to rest. I hope also that you and doing well and able to stay in Beaver Dam; I know that is home for you. Give my best to your family; it is hard to lose a mother and loved one. In better times without a pandemic, we would join you tomorrow. Unfortunately, we are needing to stay to ourselves during these times, but wish you the very best to stay healthy. If all goes well, I think next summer we will do only a cousins reunion to catch up on great memories. Hope to see you then. Charlotte Christiansen McDonald

We have named our Christmas tree this year the angel tree in Jeannine's honor. We have hung the little angels that she made so many years ago for us on the tree as well as a beaded top ornament which we have lit with lights and it looks lovely. My love our family I wish them all well and send our love and condolences to all. We wish we could be there to give you hugs but we want you to know our love and thoughts are with you at this time and always. Love forever, Carolyn and Don

I just read about Jeannine's passing. I'm so sorry to hear about this. I volunteered at the library when she was librarian at Fremont. My husband and I spent many evenings in her basement watching movies with her and Bob.
I thought about her often and loved her very much.
    RIP Jeannine
    I love you!
