After a long battle with dementia/Alzheimer’s disease, Jo Ann W. Farris passed away peacefully in her sleep in Roseville, CA on July 27, 2020. She
was 89 years old. Jo Ann (born November 15, 1930) was the daughter of Ernest and Elvira Walker. She was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. While there, she attended Catholic primary school and public high school. After high school, she relished a brief career working for the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank. She always spoke fondly and enjoyed the friends and family living in the Salt Lake Valley. She was also very proud of her Scottish heritage and of her father who immigrated from Aberdeen, Scotland. She married Robert D. Farris on December 26, 1950 and had three
children Robert E. (Christine), Lisa, and Amy Farris. She spent numerous wonderful years with her friends and family and especially enjoyed
family vacations in Lake Tahoe with her sister’s family (the Jones family) which became the highlight of all of our summers.
Mom loved animals of all kind but above all, she loved Dogs. She always had many dogs scurrying around the house and running in the yard.
Her husband, Robert D., passed away due to prostate cancer in 2013. She then lived the remainder of her life with her son, Robert and his
wife, Christine in Roseville, California. Mom loved her children, grandchildren and relatives unconditionally. She had a great sense of
humor, loved to laugh and worried nonstop about “keeping your coffee cup always full”. We will all miss her terribly but know that she is finally with her beloved departed family members.
