Dennis George Batten

1956 ~ 2016

Dennis George Batten passed away peacefully at Woodland Park Care Center in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 18, 2016 after a courageous battle with ALS.

Dennis was born in Butte on September 21, 1956 to David A. Batten and Velma J. Matosich Batten. Dennis grew up riding motor bikes, fishing and camping with his family and friends in the Silver Bow Park neighborhood. Dennis attended Greeley Grade School and graduated from Butte High School in 1974. Dennis always had a passion for car mechanics especially FORDS! In his later years he enjoyed riding his MUSTANGS all over the state.

Dennis began his military career in June 1979 when he enlisted in the Air Force. Dennis served his country for 20 years as a Staff Sergeant retiring out of Hill Air Force Base in Utah in 1999. His career took him to foreign countries for three years.

Dennis was a TAC ACFT Maintenance Journeyman for the military and kept the F-16 in the air for his twenty years of service.

Preceding him in death are his father, David Batten, his sister Donna Jean Batten Triniman. His grandparents: Mary and Matt Matosich and George and Avenel Batten. Several aunts and uncles.

Surviving relatives include his mother, Velma Jean Batten, his brother, David M. Batten, his niece, Tiffany Triniman Dixon (Josh), nephew, Tyler Triniman. Great niece, Addison Dixon and numerous cousins.

The family would like to thank Woodland Park Care Facility for their excellent love and care throughout his twenty-month stay.

A gathering of family and friends will be set for a later date. Larkin Mortuary is in charge of cremation. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors' choice. May you rest in \"Peace\" Dearest Dennis.
