Colleen Moore Sisam

1929 ~ 2017

Colleen Moore Sisam returned to her Heavenly Father on March 19, 2017. She was born October 10, 1929 in Russell Kentucky to Bertha Nichols Moore and Firman G Moore. Colleen graduated from Russell High School and made the trip to Salt Lake City where she resided at the Beehive House and began working for Zions Bank.

She met the love of her life L Richard (Dick) Sisam at an LDS Fireside. Their marriage was later solemnized on July 2, 1954 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Their love affair lasted a wonderful 60 years, during which time they were blessed with 4 children; Lorrin, Becky, David and Shannon.

Mom enjoyed being a tour guide at the Beehive House where she previously resided as well as traveling the world, camping, boating, skiing, tennis, spending time at the family cabin and bowling, where she won many medals in the Huntsman Senior Games. Her talents were numerous including singing, acting, calligraphy, ceramics, toll painting, shopping and making Ukrainian eggs, to mention a few. She shared her testimony and talent while servings in various callings in the LDS church. Mom's quick wit and love for life extended to many including her service in the Utah Aids Foundation where many people benefited from her generous nature and compassion.

Colleen is survived by her children, Lorrin Sisam (Lawana), Becky Van Cott (Darrell) and Shannon Wilde (Jeff) along with 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, son David Michael Sisam and granddaughter Brittany Lori Sisam.

Moms sense of humor, determination, artistic nature and love for her family and friends will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the LDS Wasatch 5th Ward, 8100 South Top of the World Drive (3675 East) in Cottonwood Heights. Viewings for family and friends will be held on Sunday, March 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) and on Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
