William Earnest Kerr

1925 ~ 2017

William Earnest Kerr, better known, depending on who you are, as Bill, Hon, Dad or Daddy, Grandpa or Grampa or Papa, or, in his CB radio phase, Typewriter, moved on to his next great adventure on Saturday, November 4, still a spring chicken at the age of 92.

Born on April 13, 1925, Bill was a mischievous boy who didn't like wearing shoes or going to school very much, but loved hunting and fishing and being outdoors. He served in the Army and the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1952. He was a baker, an office machine repairman, a Little League coach and a Girl Scout leader, and once sang baritone in a barbershop quartet.

Bill was a consummate gentleman and a pretty swell dancer. He always wore suspenders, often wore a hat, and, for formal occasions, wore a string tie. He loved cruises and road trips, watching old western movies and listening to big band music. And hunting. And fishing. Especially fishing.

Bill is survived by his wife Verda; four children Sharon, Chuck, Glenn and Richard; four granddaughters Danielle, Erin, Jessica and Lindsey; and great grandson Carter.

The memorial service will be held on Friday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy, Utah. Flowers can be sent directly to Sunset Gardens. Please wear suspenders.
