Carol Ann Shelline

1943 ~ 2022

Carol Ann Shelline, our beloved sister and aunt, passed away from respiratory complications on Monday, October 3, 2022. Carol was born December 22, 1943, in the Los Angeles Port City of Wilmington, California to Edwin Emmett and Anna Catherine Stump Shelline. Carol grew up in Avalon Village, a small community in the area. She attended local schools and graduated from South High School in Torrance, California. She also attended Brigham Young University.

Carol was a devoted daughter and loving sister to her two brothers, Andy and Eddie, and her dear sister Joan. Although her brothers were several years older, Carol loved seeing their accomplishments, especially having a front row seat to their shenanigans.

Although Carol and her sister Joan had many diverse traits, they were also the closest of friends. The two sisters had a life-long relationship that was beautiful in every way. They shared hopes and dreams, cared for each other, loved and supported one another, and had fun adventures throughout their entire life.

Carol was always spontaneous. She loved the beach and the ocean, and she enjoyed rides in the canyon, especially the Alpine Loop and Cascade Springs. She loved her red VW Bug and trips to Disneyland. She loved caring for animals, particularly rescue animals. She enjoyed gardening and even took a class at Thanksgiving Point to become an expert gardener. She had beautiful handwriting and took immense pleasure in reading a good book.

Carol worked for over 45 years in various administrative capacities at Brigham Young University, University of Utah Health Services and Primary Children’s Hospital, to name a few.

Carol is survived by her sister Joan Elaine, sister-in-law Norma Lucille, many loving nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Andrew Leroy and Edwin Emmett Jr., and her nephew Eric Andrew.

Due to health concerns, the memorial service has been postponed and more details will be available at a future date.
