Carol E Raymond

1934 ~ 2023

It is with great sadness that Carol E Raymond has passed on. “She was always waiting for this day” and lived her entire life to earn her place beside her Heavenly Father.

Carol Evelyn (Ladd) Raymond was born on February 19th, 1934 in Albany, New York. Those that knew her remember her prodigious Soprano sound heard throughout the entire church on Sunday. Carol also performed outside her church and “Handel’s Messiah” was always her favorite. Carol was always singing.

In 1964, Carol took her 2 young boys and moved from Bayamon, Puerto Rico to Salt Lake City and never left. She earned her degree at the U while also caring for the 2 young boys. She then established her career as a Social Worker for the State of Utah.

Her great joy were her 2 young great grandchildren, Shannon and Jack in Wyoming. Generosity was Carol’s standard and was always ready to help anyone financially or spiritually at any time. And just for fun, Carol would talk to anyone for as long as they were in her presence. Those conversations could be long. She also adored her son Dan’s longtime friend, Ann.

Carol is survived by her son Dan in Taylorsville, and Curtis (Juliette) in Boston, MA. Grandchildren: Luke from Taylorsville, and Corey (Cara) from Douglas Wyoming. Also great grandchildren Jack and Shannon. Carol has one remaining sibling; “T Ladd” in Deerfield Beach, FL.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 23rd, 2023 from 10 am – 11 am at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple in Downtown Salt Lake, followed by a graveside service at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, SLC UT at 11:30am. All are welcome.
