It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Caroline, a beloved mother, sister, and friend. She departed this world on October 13, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at home. Caroline was 57 years old.
Born in Beirut, Lebanon on March 23, 1966, Caroline left her home country to live in the United States with her five sisters and her brother. She lived a life of unwavering devotion, love, and compassion. She was a pillar of strength, a loyal friend, and a source of infinite empathy and humor to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were touched by her gentle spirit and unending grace.
A devoted mother, Caroline dedicated her life to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and nurturing care for her children, Jeremy, Gabriel, Maria, and Sarah, who will always cherish the life lessons she imparted through her wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love. Caroline’s strong mental fortitude during her battle with cancer were a lesson in grace and persistence. Her cooking will be greatly missed.
Throughout her life, Caroline had a close circle of friends who loved being around her. She was always made herself available to help her friends if they called on her. She loved making people laugh, was the always the life of the party, and had a big personality that left a lasting impression on everyone she crossed paths with.
In addition to her family and friends, Caroline was known for her numerous talents and hobbies, including photography, drawing, and reading medical books. She had a passion for travelling, picnics in the mountains, and cooking. Her charitable contributions and volunteering as a translator and social worker for refugees from the middle east left an indelible mark on her community. Caroline was also a volunteer translator during the 2002 paralympic winter games for the Armenian National Team. Through her devotion to knowledge and learning, using a combination of western and alternative medicines she was able to survive with Stage 4 cancer for 9 years, far exceeding the expectations of all of her doctors.
Caroline is survived by her siblings, Norma, Minerva, Miro, Michael, Mary, and Hawla. She is preceded in death by her son Joshua, and her parents, Josephine and Antoun.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Caroline’s friend Marwan for his compassionate care during her long battle with cancer. His kindness, support, and loyalty as a friend provided Caroline comfort during a difficult time.
Caroline's departure has left a void that can never be filled, but her memory and excitement for life will shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her. She loved butterflies, strawberries, and gardenias. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for the love, grace, and compassion she shared with the world.
With love and remembrance, a public viewing and Rosary will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (1375 Spring Lane, Holladay, Utah) on Friday, October 20 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at the same location on Saturday, October 21, beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment to take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A mercy meal will be held at 4263 S Jummer way.
