Cashton Monte Austin, age 15, passed away on July 19th, 2022 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. Cashton was born on October 17th, 2006, to parents Megan Whiteley and Casey Austin. As a kind, intuitive child, Cashton was known by his friends and family to be smart, witty, and endlessly caring.
Cashton endured countless unimaginable trials in his short lifetime. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor at just 5 years old, and bravely faced over twenty major surgeries in the difficult years that followed. Despite this, he never complained or wondered “why me”.
Cashton’s sunny disposition was a constant reminder to everyone to always look on the bright side. His courage and sincerity humbled and uplifted all of those lucky enough to fall within his orbit. He will be missed so dearly.
Cashton is survived by his mother Megan and father Casey, as well as his step-father Jason, Grandpa Corky Austin, Grandma Kelly Austin, Grandpa Dave Whiteley, Grandma Lori Whiteley, Grandpa Elmer and Grandma Sandy Pays, his Uncle Devin and Aunt Alyssa, Aunt Whitney, Uncle Justin and cousins Oakley and Riley. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Kippy.
He is preceded in death by his Grandpa Tom and Grandma Melody, Grandpa Monte and Grandma Elaine, and his best-friend Bob the Cat and Jerome.
Funeral services will be held at one o’clock on Saturday, July 30th in Salt Lake City, Utah at Larkin Mortuary, address 260 E South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84111.

Corky I was so sorry to hear such terrible news. I know you said Cashton had faced a lot of challenges in life and I know that you were a big part of his overcoming them.
