Obituary Photo for Catherine Rebecca Buhrman “Becky” < >

Becky was born on 10/02/1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Everett and Wanda Buhrman. She passed away on 04/28/22.

Becky spent 5 years working for the LDS hospital in the pain clinic. She wanted to be home with her girls and therefore did in home daycare for 17 years while they were raised. In her later years Becky worked as an onsite property manager for Public Storage in West Valley for 11 years and then Beehive Storage in Ogden, Utah for approximately 2 years. She then lived onsite at the Olympus Ranch Senior Living Center helping with the seniors there. Becky was married to Michael Black (1969-1985) and later to Micheal Haymes (1992-2016).

Becky is survived by her 3 sisters: Margie (Layne) Murray, Pam Sorenson, & Barbara Schultz and 1 brother: Milt (Vicki) Buhrman. Her 2 daughters: Michelle (Gary) Rettenberger, and Jennifer Black (Miguel). She was blessed by 3 grandchildren: Dalton, Becca, and Hank. As well as 10 honorary grandchildren: Todd, Jason, Ashleigh, Jordan, Brandon, Ethan, Zachary, Quinton, Christian, and Alleunamme. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She has had 2 lifelong best friends: Diane Baird and Charlotte Lewis that she is also leaving behind.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, two brothers-in-law (Henry Ludington & Kevin Sorenson), 3 great nephews and 1 great niece along with several aunts and uncles.

Her daughters would like to thank Bethany Salcedo for her 5 ½ years of caretaking in the home with their mom. The countless, exhausting hours spent we will never be able to repay but please know you are truly one of our mom’s friends and we greatly appreciate you! We would also like to thank Canyon Home Health & Hospice, and all the IHC doctors at McKay Dee Hospital for their efforts over the years to make our mom’s life bearable for her. Without these efforts our mom would have passed several years ago and the limited years and days we had with our mom are because of all these people caring.

There will be a 1 hour viewing at 11 a.m. on 5/4/22 followed by graveside service at 12 p.m. Services will be held at the Larkin Sunset Gardens: 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy, Utah.

For those unable to attend the service in person, the family invites you to join via Zoom at: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84344970443. A free Zoom account is required and you will need to sign in to join the service.

Guestbook/Condolences

I was introduced to your Mom a long time ago. I loved her right away because she was the Mother of one of my new favorite friends, Michelle. I recently became acquainted with Jennifer who is amazing as well.
My heart goes out to you on your Mom's passing. May you and your families be blessed with love and comfort knowing your Mom isn't suffering any more. She's got to be so proud of her daughters and her family. With Love, KC

I met Becky about 20 years ago thru Public Storage. I had not only the pleasure of working with her but getting to know her personally and before long we were family. We shared laughter, shed tears and swapped recipes, yes Becky, I will continue to make your famous enchiladas. And I thank you for bringing into the world your beautiful daughter Jennifer, one of my dearest friends in the world. My heart is with you Jen, Barbara, Hank and the rest of Becky's family.
Rest in peace Becky you will be missed.

My heart hurts for Becky's family. Losing a loved one is the worst. I have amazing memories from my childhood with Aunt Becky. I hope she rests in paradise and knows how loved she is.
Love you aunt Becky. ❤️

Our hearts go out Becky’s family and her children. She was always so kind to us anytime we got together, and she loved spending time with all her extended family over at Grandmothers house. Nich said he will always remember the cakes that Becky would make for family events! :)
