LuAnn Nelson White

1955 ~ 2014

LuAnn Nelson White, 58, of Sandy Utah passed away Friday December 12, 2014 from a very aggressive cancer. She was born December 26, 1955 in Preston Idaho to Lynn and Beverly Nelson. She was married in the Salt Lake Temple on February 24, 1978 to Eric William White. The two had three children: Alisha (Bret) Fund, Amanda (Jeremy) Carter and Anthony William White. She is survived by her mother, husband, children, four grandchildren, seven siblings, numerous nieces and nephews and an uncountable number of friends. She always put these people ahead of herself and cared for them first.

She attended Sky View High School in Smithfield Utah, where she grew up, and Utah State University in Logan Utah. She was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in numerous callings over the years, including serving as a missionary at the Hill Cumorah pageant in Palmyra New York. She was very artistic in her endeavors: sewing blessing dresses, piecing and sewing quilts (one can never have too many fat quarters) and cutting mattes for artwork and then framing those pieces of art.

In her spare time she would just sit and sew and enjoy creating at her sewing machine. She loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren as well as time at family reunions with her extended family. She had a special bond with her mother and had great fun at any of their activities. Her favorite place besides being at home was in the tropical islands of Hawaii. She became a certified Scuba Diver and went on dive trips with her husband there. She also enjoyed watching her children play on the beach.

Funeral services will be heldSaturday December 20, 2014 at 11 a.m.in the LDS Silver Mesa ward chapel: 8945 S. 1700 E. Sandy, Utah. There will be a viewingFriday December 19, 2014 from 6‚8 p.m.in the same building. She will be buried close to her Father in the Smithfield City Cemetery, Smithfield Utah at approximately 3:30pm.
