Patricia Anne Hatt Newson, age 87, passed away peacefully November 12, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Patricia was born April 24, 1931 to Charles R. Hatt and Opal C. Hatt in Bluffdale, Utah.
Pat was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married Howard Newson in the Logan Temple on September 1, 1950 and together they raised four children. Pat was vibrant, kind, classy, confident, and determined. Pat was not afraid of telling you which way the wind blew, but was also very kind and thoughtful. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and tried to do the right thing by everyone. Pat was a former beauty queen turned model and pursued careers as an interior designer, a real estate agent, and one of the founders of Spa Lady and Centrium fitness clubs.
Pat is survived by three of her children, Howard "Huck" McKean Newson, Shauna Newson Hoopiiaina Aiken, and Annette Newson Leach, twelve grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Howard McKean Newson and her son David McKean Newson.
Graveside services will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road. A viewing will be held at the same location prior to services, beginning at 1:00 PM.
