Dan passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 14, 2014. Dan was born April 14, 1934, in Fillmore UT to Alma N. Iverson and Florence McKee Iverson.
Dan served honorably for 4 years in the US Navy. He married Naon Hopkins in July of 1957. They had a daughter, Shannon. Dan and Naon later divorced but remained close friends.
He married Christa Neukirchner in March of 1967. Upon retirement Dan and Christa lived in St. George UT until Christa's passing on May 26, 2011. Dan then moved to SLC to be close to his daughter, Shannon.
He is survived by his daughters Shannon (Eric) Steur and Christine (Ross) Babb; 4 grandchildren; brother Steve (Cindy) Iverson; sisters Loraelle (Jim) Weddle, Jilleen (Bill) Richeson, Dee (Dent) Mellen, Pat Rhodes; many nieces and nephews. Also preceded in death by brother Jack Iverson, sisters Darnell Iverson and Meridene Jorgensen, brother-in-law Kent Jorgensen, and nephew Bradley Jorgensen.
Dan was a quiet, soft-spoken, sweet, gentle man. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Naon who, along with Shannon, never left Dan's side during his time of need.
As per Dan's wishes no services will be held. In honor of Dan please donate to the American Lung Association.
