Chad Berrett

1966 ~ 2022

On Sunday, July 31, 2022, Chad Conrad Berrett, loving son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away at the age of 55. As a family our hearts hurt, but we are so grateful that he is now relieved of the pain and suffering he has bravely endured for so many years.

Chad was born November 9, 1966, in Ogden, Utah. After graduating from high school, Chad joined the United States Air Force. He had a deep love of and dedication to country and considered his service in the military one of his greatest accomplishments. He enjoyed volunteering at the Salt Lake 2002 Olympics. Until his retirement in 2021, he worked at Dillard’s in security.

Chad was an avid and loyal sports fan. He loved all things BYU Football, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Pittsburgh Steelers. He had a passion for Star Wars, Beanie Babies, old sitcoms and game shows. He loved to attend gun shows and to share and talk about his knife collection.
He was known for his ability to banter about his sports teams, his unconditional love for his nieces and nephews, his arched eyebrow, his incredible memory, his big heart, and the enjoyment he got out of teasing all those he loved and having them tease him right back.
Chad was preceded in death by his grandparents, Golden and Caroline Berrett, Con and Ann Morgan, and his stepfather Tom Clarke. He is survived by his parents, Sharon Morgan Clarke, and Sherrell (Linda) Berrett, his siblings Lisa (Russ) Minnick, Jill (Paul) Klein, Rick (Kristi) Berrett, Kyle (Jenn) Berrett, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who he adored. Chad was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 11 am at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), where we will honor our Chad who brought his own unique spirit, wisdom, and personality to our family.
