Charles William Huebner passed away on March 27, 2026, at his home in Midvale, Utah. With determination and grace he persevered through a fight with colon cancer in 2023 and continued to live a full and vibrant life up until the time of his death.
Born in San Bernardino, California, on May 5, 1945, Charlie was the only child of Dorothea and Mervin Huebner. The family moved to Strawberry Point, and then to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where Charlie graduated from high school. He graduated from St. Olaf College and was a young man of many interests including cars, mechanics, model-making, and the arts.
Charlie moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and began a career in sales. He married Linda Jo Williams, an old friend from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on April 21, 1973. Married for over 49 years, Charlie and Linda became the parents of Amanda Lauren (Begg) and Tobin Matthew, both of Salt Lake City, and grandparents to their eleven grand children: Kasey, Kohwan, Khloe, Kaleb, Kyler, Klara, Kavin (Begg), and Joshua, Charlotte, Tessa, and Audrey (Huebner). Charlie is survived by his children and grandchildren, and one great-grandson, Cade Gilbert Estupinan, as well as two sons from a previous marriage. Two grandchildren, Kristina Noelle Begg, and Jane Emerson Huebner, preceded both Linda and Charlie in their deaths.
Charlie’s Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, captured his heart in March 1979, and he now rejoices in His presence. From 1990 to 2026, Charlie served faithfully as a teacher, Bible Study leader, and elder. He was a lover and connecter of people, an avid supporter of local arts and culture, a beloved friend, mentor, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
A gathering to share in his loving memory, followed by a reception, will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the Evangelical Free Church of Salt Lake City, 6515 S. Lion Lane, Salt Lake City, Utah 84121. The gathering will be transmitted live on YouTube beginning at 2:00 PM.
