Charlien “Charlie” Kierstead McCray, passed away peacefully at her home on December 18, 2023, surrounded by her fur children, Penny, Mia and Willow. She was a wife, mother, grand-mother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and dear friend to many.
Charlie was born February 15, 1955, to Leo and Lorna Kierstead at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. She had one daughter, one bonus daughter, three bonus sons, a granddaughter who was like a daughter to her as well as other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charlie was employed by the Department Alcohol Beverage Control for many years. She enjoyed crafting, quilting, and working on special projects on their property. Charlie enjoyed spending time at the property and decided to make it her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Marlien Taylor, her brother Steve, mother and father-in-law Hubert and Esther McCray, sister & brother-in-law Wilma (Dan) Ingersoll, a grandson Cody McCray, and her dogs Peanut, Meeka, Shadow, Belle and a few others. Survived by her husband Cecil “Cec” McCray, fur babies, Penny, Mia, Willow, Molly, Tex, daughter Katrina Stettina, grand-daughter Jaycie (Armando) Garcia, bonus children Bret (Robin), Jana, Terry (Tracey), Scott (Diane) McCray, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers Ron (Kristy), Bob (Beanie), Danny (Linda) Kierstead, sister-in-laws Doris (David) Quinn, Dora (Bruce) Carter, brother-in-law Hubert “Sonny” (Jean) McCray, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Per Charlie’s wishes there will be a Celebration of Life at a date to be determined later. Cold was not Charlie’s favorite season.
