Cheryl Beazer

1942 ~ 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Cheryl Joycelyn Beazer announce her passing after a long illness on December 26th, 2023, at the age of 81 years.

Cheryl was born in Modesto, California to Elzo and Pauline (Rau) Chugg and later moved to Acequia, Idaho while she was an infant. After graduating from Minico High school in Rupert, Idaho she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she met her husband, Gaylen Beazer. They were blessed with two children, Janet and Robert. Cheryl was employed at Oakridge Elementary in 1978 as a secretary, and finally retired in 2011. She loved to travel with Gaylen and frequented the countries of Europe, Alaska, as well as taking her family to Disneyland. Everyone that came in contact with Cheryl knew she had a warm and loving heart, and her smile would light up the room.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents Elzo and Pauline, husband Gaylen and brother Scott Chugg, as well as several extended family members.

She is survived by her daughter Janet Bigford (Brad), son Robert Beazer (Michelle), grandchildren Madison, Walker, Maxwell (Amanda), Alex, Presley and Grace, all of Utah, and one sister Connie Chugg of Idaho. She was cherished by many and will remain in our hearts forever.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South in Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held immediately prior beginning at 1PM.

I was fortunate enough to work with Cheryl at Oakridge Elementary School. What a blessing it was to know her!! Cheryl’s genuine love and kindness toward children and to us as her coworkers was clearly evident every day, even when she was tired or not feeling well. I was also lucky enough to enjoy her company in my home on a few occasions. When I think of Cheryl it reminds me to “Think Celestial!”
