Christel Frieda Siegel Sysak

1936 ~ 2023

Christel was born on Christmas Day, 1936, in Hamburg, Germany. She was the only surviving child of Annalise and Karl Siegel, whose other children died during the World War II bombings.

After growing up in Germany, she arrived in New York City on February 1, 1960, on the Queen Mary.

She worked for Pan America Airlines for several years before marrying and moving to Utah. While here she worked as a successful travel agent specializing in South American and Himalayan trekking. Her passion for trekking found her climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro as well as mountains in Tibet, Nepal, and Argentina.

After a very full life, she is being laid to rest next to her two children, Kyra, and Karston.

A brief graveside service will be held on November 4th at 1:00 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah.

We are so sorry about Christel. She was a wonderful lady! Unfortunately, we had to take our dog to the Sandy library and couldn't attend.
