1950 ~ 2026
Claudia Ann Panek Curtis, age 75, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on July 27, 1950, in Murray, Utah, to Walter Panek and Mary Fredressa Lees, who lovingly welcomed her into a bustling and devoted family.
Claudia lived a life defined by faith, family, and a deep love for the outdoors. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully for several years in the Family History Division, where she found joy in preserving stories, connecting generations, and helping others discover their heritage.
She was happiest under an open sky—hunting, camping, and exploring the mountains she cherished. Her loyal dog, Daisy, was her constant companion and a source of comfort and delight.
Claudia’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her brothers Ed, David (Tammy), and Claude; her six children Brian (Cherish), Robert (Debbie), Jeremy (Leigha), Paul (Mary), Crystal, and Marcus (Maggie); and her beloved 21 grandchildren: Tanner Curtis, Katie Jensen, Brock Curtis, Austin Curtis, Nikolai Curtis, Megan Curtis, Breanna Curtis, Jareka Curtis, Asher Curtis, Tamzin Curtis, Ember Curtis, Emma Curtis, Braxton Curtis, Zowie Curtis, Hunter (Mariah) Jensen, Kelly Jensen, Izzy Jensen, Noah Curtis, McKaylee Curtis, and Michael Curtis. She also leaves behind six great‑grandchildren: Michael Curtis, Xavier Curtis, Taylor Degraw, Maddie Degraw, Kate Jensen, and Roman Jensen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary; her sisters Ellen Marie, Bonnie (Fred), Linda, and Mary; and her brothers Howard and Joseph.
Claudia will be remembered for her strength, her independence, her love of nature, and her unwavering devotion to the people she loved. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, the stories she preserved, and the memories she created.
May she rest in peace, reunited with those who went before her.
