Keith Bradford Romney

1929 ~ 2015

Keith Bradford Romney passed away peacefully in his home Wednesday morning, January 21, 2015. He held many titles, including husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, "Coach Romney," Bishop, and "Father of Condominium." But, the titles he most loved were "Daddy," and "Grandpa." In these various roles, he influenced countless individuals for good.

Born May 9, 1929 to Vernon Romney ("the greatest man he ever knew") and Anna Lois Bradford Romney ("his angel mother"), he will be greatly missed by his devoted wife, Janet Blackhurst Romney, his children, Vicki (Scott) Henderson, Brad (Sara Jayne) Romney, Lois (Rick) Waltman, Jenifer (David) Blackner, Amy (Dan) Bennett and John (Joni) Romney, his 28 grandchildren (and their spouses) and his 32 great grandchildren.

Keith was preceded in death by his youngest son, Richard Brent Romney, brothers Vernon and Ralph and sister, Rowena Maher, and by brothers-in-law, Robert Cutler and Jim Maher. Keith is survived by his wife, Janet, and by siblings and in-laws: Pat Pingree Romney, Pat Steele Romney, Beverly Cutler, Geraldine (Boyd) Busath, Yvonne (Mike) Dixon and John (Chere) Romney.

Keith graduated from East High School, the University of Utah and George Washington University Law School. He served faithfully as a missionary in the British Mission, as a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force and as bishop of the Garden Park II Ward (his most cherished and influential calling).

A man of many passions and myriad accomplishment, Keith's greatest passion and highest priority was his family, who will forever remember his sage advice from one-on-one conversations, weekly "Grandpa Rides," frequent family dinners, holiday celebrations, and annual family trips. He was always there for each member of his large posterity, and many others. His devotion to family was demonstrated by the many hours he spent with them. He was generous beyond measure. Truly, one-of-a-kind!

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Salt Lake Bonneville Stake Center, 1535 E. Bonneview Drive (1050 South). A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, January 25, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Garden Park Ward, 1150 E. Yale Avenue, and before the services from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the chapel.
