  • Craig was born January 10, 1955 to Dewey and Lyla Black. Married Connie Renee Branch on July 15, 1977 in the Salt Lake Temple. Passed into the waiting arms of his sons Jeremy and Nathan December 22, 2020 due to complications of a back surgery. Craig was larger than life and very much like his Grandpa Savage having never met a person he didn't like, and consequently, never a person who didn't like him. When you were with Craig you were his best friend.

He is survived by his eternal companion Connie and his daughter Julie (Gabriel) and three grandchildren: Jeran, Morgan, and Levi "Billy”, brother Bruce (Allison), and sisters Debbie Baddley (George), Michelle Marshall (Randy), Kimberlee Carlson (Doug), Tara Heiner (Brett). Preceded in death by Jeremy, Nathan, and his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. For additional service information or to share a memory of Craig, please visit larkincares.com.

    Hello,
I am very sorry for your loss. I worked with Craig at Clines Nissan for 6 years. Craig was one of the kindest and most genuine people that I knew. He was a great friend and salesman. We had many fun times together. He and I went flying in a two seater after he got his pilots license. We were sitting at work and talking about flying. He said you want to go and I said yes. It is the only time I have been in a small plane. We had a great time and I will treasure the memories I have of Craig. He will truly be missed. Dean Jaramillo

So sorry to hear of Craig’s passing. Please know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
    Sincerely, Lisa

My prayers are that you will be comforted and given extra strength as you remember your association with Craig. I remember the time Craig and his Dad and I delivered a vehicle to a car dealer in Wyoming several years ago and we had to travel in snow and ice as we returned to SLC . It was Craig's expert driving that got us back home safely that night and that was the last time I saw Craig. I am sure he is having a joyful reunion with his Mom and Dad and his sons that preceded him into that immortal world where there is no sickness nor sorrow.

We send our deepest sympathies. We will always remember Craig as being devoted to his children and Connie. We remember how much fun he and Jeremy and Nathan had flying remote control airplanes. And he liked to go hunting and would take Julie with him. Craig was always very friendly and kind. He will be missed.

Craig will be dearly missed. He was always full of great energy and made me laugh. He was very good at remembering some things that I had forgotten about our early years working together at Clines in Murray. He was a wonderful person to be able to call my friend.

Man Quaok! Sure will miss you! Many many years of working together was so much fun! I remember when you got your belt in Ti-Quan-dow and we gave you the nick name of Quaok! So generous with your time and so gracious when your boys were here and going through all the tough stuff! Connie, just want you to know we love you guys. If ever you need anything please reach out. All our love, Ken & Kathy Howe

Craig was a character and more importantly a person of great character. I enjoyed the many conversations, laughs, advice and experiences we had over the years. I always admired the devotion he had for his family and his direct and honest way he conducted business. You are a man gone too soon and will be missed, Buddy !

    Connie and Julie & Family,
We were shocked to hear about Craig. We cannot stop thinking about you, but at the same time, we can't stop thinking about the glorious reunion he is having with Jeremy and Nathan. The boys are back together and we believe they will watch over you, from above. You are forever in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. We hope you feel their special comfort around you.

We go way back you and me, Clear back in third grade, when we were expelled from school for breaking windows, you had the police convinced it wasn’t us, until they separated us, and I broke down and confessed. The most charismatic person I ever met. I love you Craig

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Connie and Julie

( Only heaven knows what kind of trouble Craig, Jeremy and Nathan are getting into)

Connie, Loraine and I have been so saddened by Craig’s passing! I love Craig and will miss being able to talk and tease each other! He was like a brother to me and we will keep you and his family in our hearts and prayers! He was so proud of his family and especially his Grandchildren but I know he is grateful to be reunited with his boys and to see them whole and healthy is just another one of God’s great miracles! Family’s are forever! God bless you and all those he has left behind! Bill and Loraine Buckley

My dear sweet cousin Connie and family,
Know that God loves you all and Craig is with his boys. May God bless you each and everyday. Connie I'm here for you anytime. Love you. SUSAN BRANCH BIRD. 🐦 🦜 🦢

Connie, though I was able to see you at Craig‘s viewing and also at his graveside service, now that things are settling down a little bit, I just wanted to tell you that I immensely valued Craigs and my friendship and relationship. When I started working at Clines In 1981 Craig was the first person there to offer his hand of friendship. It proved to be genuine in that we spent a lot of time together fishing and hunting and just being friends, especially in the car business. I appreciated his many talents, as he seemed to be well studied and versed on many subjects. He was always willing to help in just about every way. I valued our friendship immensely for those many reasons, and many others. Thank you Connie for sharing Craig with me and always making me feel welcome in your home. Craig was a firecracker, and as a result that’s the way our friendship was; fiery. I liked that aspect, as I always knew where we stood. I’m going to try to visit occasionally to see how you are doing, and hope that you will find continuing joy and meaning with your family. My hope is that God will continue to bless you and be with you. All our sincere love and concern, Marty (& Elaine ) Crapo.
