When Amy was taking out her endowments in the Temple, Craig shared thoughts and feels regarding her. His deep and abiding love for her was apparent. He told me she was special in her ability to love. I knew then she would demonstrate that love of her father for her! He was correct! She is special and exceptional in her love for others as her father was toward her!

Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Craig Owen Jacobs on July 4th, 2026. Our hearts are broken and will miss him immensely.
Craig was born May 22, 1952 in Emmett, Idaho to Owen Spencer and Agnes Emmaline Jacobs. The youngest of eleven, he was completely spoiled by eight sisters and a wonderful mother.
At nine he moved to Germany with his family where his father served as President of the Bavarian Mission. Craig attended a German school and mastered the German language and German Fußball. He went on to play soccer at Highland High School and was Captain of the BYU Mens Soccer Team. He loved the game! Craig was an amazing athlete, no matter the sport.
After earning a degree from BYU he attended the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine where he received most Proficient In Podiatric Surgery Award upon graduating.
He and his wife, Kathy, just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Those fifty years have been filled with beautiful children, beautiful grandchildren and beautiful adventures.
Craigs love of God was only matched by the love of his children, James Owen (Lisa), Aaron Craig (Kristin), Amy Kathryn (Aaron), Sarah Elizabeth (Troy) and Isaac Daniel (Phoebe). He taught them principles so they would experience success in all areas of their lives, family being the most important.
Being a father was his most sacred role. Teaching all his children the value of work, integrity, education, faith and honesty with yourself and the Lord. Often it was others children that benefited from his wise and honest advice on how to better your life.
His ‘tips’ and love for us will forever remain in our hearts.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 10th at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy, Ut. 84092
A viewing will be held 12:30-1:30. The funeral service will follow at 2:00.

Tributes
I love Craig. We spent so much time in his home growing up, and I have so many great memories with him.
I’ll never forget the time he was performing surgery on his own foot, and Sarah walked in, saw the blood, and passed out. Poor Craig couldn’t do anything about it because he was literally in the middle of operating on himself. He just yelled out to us to come pick up his daughter off the floor.
I remember riding in his beautiful BMWs and looking over his shoulder as he fully embraced the “The Ultimate Driving Machine.” I also remember one Halloween when our family doorbell-ditched some treats on his porch. Craig was not about to let that happen. He opened the garage, jumped on his dirt bike, and chased our family minivan for blocks to figure out who had left the goodies.
Craig also once gave us teenage boys a memorable tip. It was something like, “You can marry more money in ten minutes than you can make in a lifetime.” I didn’t exactly follow that advice, but I’ve definitely never forgotten it.
More than anything, I’m grateful I had a great man like Craig in my life during my teenage years. He loved his family, their friends, and the Lord. He was a mentor and an example to me, and I’ll always be grateful for the influence he had on my life.
God bless Craig and his wonderful family.
My sincere condolences to the whole family. Greg was an incredibly kind, genuine, and warm-hearted person. His kindness touched so many lives, and I feel grateful to have known him. May his memory be a blessing, and may you find strength and comfort in remembering the love, kindness, and joy he brought to those around him.
I have so appreciated the love and support from the entire Jacobs family for over 30 years. Craig gave Amy and me lots of helpful tips over the years. I still hold the ski rope the way he taught me to when you took me to Idaho on a family trip. Thank you for letting me be part of your family during those teenage years. Your home literally was my home away from home for a few years there.
Craig was my roommate at BYU and after introductions and a courtship with my sister Kathy he became my brother in law . Their marriage was probably one of their best lifetime decisions. Craig will be missed but never forgotten for his many contributions and accomplishments !
