Cynthia Anne Davies Reading died on January 20, 2023 of causes incident to old age. She was born on July 14, 1932 to Daniel James and Lillian Ross Davies in Salt Lake City, Utah. She lived there until her marriage in 1954 to John Robert “Jack” Reading. She graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s degree in education and taught school for a year. Jack was in the Air Force and then worked for companies that transferred him regularly. They moved many times until they retired to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. After his death in 2016 she returned to live in Salt Lake near her siblings.
Anne is survived by her four children Cynthia (Mike) Adams, Jeanne Heath, John (Delkys) Reading, Paul (Kim) Reading; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters Barbara Horne and Carolyn Baran. She is preceded in death by her husband; one brother; one sister; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Anne was a shining light whose life reflected the will of the Lord. Over the past seven years she has grown closer and closer to Him as she constantly sought the help of the Spirit to guide her actions and support her in her weakening condition. She gave her life in service to others until the very end. We will always keep her example alive in our hearts and actions as we strive to “do her proud”.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road, Sandy. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. To view previously held services click on the link provided.
