Geraldine Rose Buckles Rosvall

1930 ~ 2016

Born July 14, 1930 to Bernard T. Buckles and Rachel Olive McGrath. Died January 24, 2016. Preceded in death by husband, Ray; parents; brother, Eddie; and sister, Shirley Foote. Survived by her beloved daughter, Linda Berni (Louis); and sister, Josephine Day, as well as many loving adoring nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

The day of her passing left this planet a little darker. The colorful personality, complex character named "Deanie;" will surely add a new dimension to her next destination. She possessed a phenomenal memory that never dimmed. She was the original ‘Facebook'. She knew the pedigree of families, friends, and neighbors two or three generations back. Her mind was a historical record of Salt Lake restaurants, theaters, landmarks and Hollywood trivia. She loved the most frightening rides at amusement parks, ran like a Giselle to investigate the cause of any siren. She fervently tracked police activity on her citizens ban radio.

As a prolific reader, she awaited each new book to the Fillmore library. She spent hours doing beautiful embroidery work, loved to sing, dance, and dress up for Halloween.

She invented ingenious new ways for kids to have fun i.e., bathtub full of snow for recuperating nieces to play with while in the warm house. Every child should have an "Aunt Deanie." Deanie painted in the lines i.e. paint by number oils (most of the time) but her life was a beacon to show the rest of us how to forget the politically correct lines and be your true self.

She loved her family, friends and many Chihuahua babies. Our special thanks to her loyal friends in Fillmore. Though she made friends easily, true friends are still rare to find. Services to be held Monday, February 1, 2016, 2:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City. Visitation one hour prior. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive.
