Jason Ray Hoth

1991 ~ 2017

Jason Ray Hoth was born January 19, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah and died May 15, 2017 in a car accident doing what he loved best, traveling and exploring. As a child, Jason enjoyed school and played football. He graduated from Copper Hills High School and received a full scholarship to Westminster College from the Daniels Fund. After four years of college he embarked on a long-held desire to travel. Staying in hostels and carrying a backpack, he visited Australia, Japan, Europe, Israel, Africa and many other countries, making good friends wherever he traveled. Upon his return, he enrolled at the University of Utah and planned to attend medical school. Jason was very close to his single-parent dad and they were almost constant companions, fishing every available weekend. His Dad's death in 2004 was difficult for a thirteen-year-old boy. In spite of his obstacles and losses, he had the ability to make anyone laugh and became a confident, charming man with the most beautiful smile in the world.

Jason was preceded in death by his beloved dad, David Kory Hoth, mother, Marie Schuster and grandpa, Edward Ray Hoth. He is survived by his devoted grandma, Gerri Hoth, aunts, Lisa (Bruce) Chidester, Raleen Nunley and Rozanne Hoth and cousins, Jamie, Tracy, Christine, Amanda and Ashley.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy with a visitation from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.
