Miriam Moyle Madson

1923 ~ 2015

Our beautiful and gracious Miriam Moyle Madson passed away on January 6, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Miriam was born to her beloved parents Helen Rich and Gilbert Dinwoodey Moyle on September 2, 1923 in Ogden. Miriam's childhood was spent in the Cottonwood area of Salt Lake City . Mimi received her degree in Bacteriology from the University of Utah where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Mimi was employed in the medical field until she married her beloved husband Francis Sisman Madson in 1947. Fran and Mimi established homes in Ogden, Indiana, Salt Lake City and California. Mimi worked at home raising four sons, who were so very important in her life. Mimi found pleasure in growing beautiful roses and was a talented artist. Many of Mimi's most treasured moments were spent with parents, family and friends at the lake house in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Mimi was held in the highest regard and loved by all who knew her as they were touched by her sweet demeanor and kindness. Mimi was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was very proud of her pioneer heritage.

Miriam is survived by her three sons Craig Moyle Madson, Scott Rich Madson (Carolyn), Christopher Moyle Madson (Monae) and grandchildren Tiffany, Amanda (Spencer), Andrew (Christine), Cade and Mirjabella and great-grandchildren Emma, William and Coleson. Miriam was preceded in death by her husband Francis and son Gilbert Francis Madson, parents, brother Gilbert Dinwoodey Moyle and sister Helen Claire Murphy. Family would like to thank hospice and the caring staff at Spring Creek.

Services will be held Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary on 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held starting at 9:00am. Interment at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
